African Hippo on The Mara River
This is a 20-year-old photograph taken with a Nikon D200 camera and a 100-300mm lens in JPEG format. I love going through "old pictures" to publish and share the stories captured in each photo. In this case, we were in Africa at the Mara River, near the "Great Crossing." The only animals we saw were a few hippos, alligators, and some birds. The "Great Migration" hadn't reached the Mara yet. Dang!
Despite the lack of action, experiencing the Hippo move through the water in a natural setting was uplifting. Moreover, taking old JPEG images and republishing them brings back the indelible memories of the experience of being in Africa.
