From Glacier to Waterton Lakes
The mountains of Glacier National Park and Waterton Lakes National Park, located in the U.S. and Canada, are breathtaking sights. I enjoy still photography, which lets me capture a single moment in time. Unlike videography, each shot preserves a piece of history—a memory that perfectly captures the essence of that moment.
This is a video photo album from a trip through Glacier National Park in the United States, followed by a visit to the Prince of Wales Hotel in Waterton Lakes National Park, Canada, where the photo hunt continued. Each photo reflects my effort to capture the natural beauty of the landscape and the uniqueness of each moment, appreciating the distinctive environment of both locations. For example, photographing subtle changes in lighting takes time and can be challenging. As you view the series of photos of the view from The Prince of Wales Hotel, you can see how the lighting varies in each shot. These changes can be subtle, as cloud movement affects the lighting.
Then there is the sunset. Capturing the sun as it drops below the mountain range offers a unique opportunity to document lighting variations from the bright sun to the beams of light shooting through the mountains. The dark areas create a striking contrast in lighting, giving a three-dimensional appearance to the mountains as the sun sets and darkness gradually takes over, turning day into night. Landscape photography presents a challenge because lighting and composition can range from subtle to impactful.
Photographing Glacier and Waterton Lakes was a joyful challenge....
